BMW spent its time at the 2006 New York Auto show essentially gloating. Sales are up for our Bavarian friends, and they’re happy about it. Furthermore, transaction prices are up too-perhaps due to more expensive cars? For example, look at the 2006 M5-the average sale runs $92,000 today, up $20 grand over the old model.
As far as actual car news goes, BMW did officially unveil the Z4 Coupe. However, since it’s been on display in one form or another since Detroit, we weren’t real surprised. We do have confirmation, however, that the new coupe will hold two golf bags, and comes with lightweight alloy rims. The M version packs the 3.2-liter straight-six, making 330 horsepower. BMW says that hot-rod laps the Nurburgring’s North Loop faster than an M3.
