2015 Volkswagen Golf SE Review & Road Test

Volkswagen calls the 2015 Golf SE an “Urban Enjoyment Vehicle”. I call it fun for a great price. Of course it is very similar to the 2015 VW Golf GTI S which I called in my earlier review an “Urban Street Machine”. The differences are subtle and the price is about the same. The Golf SE comes with more options then the GTI S, but with 40 less horsepower (170 vs 210) and only an automatic transmission. You can load up the options on the GTI S if options are what you want, but you can’t change the engine or the transmission on the Golf SE.

You can’t go wrong with the Golf SE. Just like the GTI S, its fun to drive, well equipped and very much a Volkswagen. Which one you choose will come down to personal preference. If you ware looking for more performance you will likely end up with a GTI. If performance isn’t your thing you will likely fair better with the Golf (since you can get a higher optioned vehicle for a better price). Whether its an Urban Enjoyment Vehicle or an Urban Street Machine, you’ll love either one.
