2018 BMW X2 Review
Pros & Cons | What’s New |
---|---|
It offers a very refined european driving experience. It’s zippy around town and fun to drive. | All new model for 2018. |
I’m 6’3″ and I didn’t feel cramped in the front seat. Of course that meant there was no room for someone to comfortably sit behind me. I like that the cargo door raises high and isn’t in the way when loading & unloading. | |
Considering this is an SUV the driving position isn’t as high as I’d like it to be. | |
The BMW roundel badge on the C pillar does not look high-end or luxurious. |
The BMW X2 is a brand new crossover SUV (they call it an SAV for sports activity vehicle) from BMW. It’s a subcompact luxury SUV offering traditional BMW sporty driving characteristics. Oddly the X2 is actually slightly smaller and offers a little less room inside than the BMW X1.
Our test car was the AWD xDrive28i version. There is a front wheel drive version which BMW names the sDrive which is a little slower to 60mph even though it’s lighter and costs about $2K less.
Q. Should I put the X2 on my car shopping list?
A. It’s a pretty average crossover SUV. I’d say if you’re a BMW enthusiast or really want a subcompact european crossover then sure why not add it to your list but generally speaking I’d say there are better options for a short car shopping list, including BMWs own X1.
